I was contacted through a recommendation by The Yorkshire Renovation Company to design an outdoor kitchen for one of their clients. I was more than happy to take it on. The brief was to create a modern, functional cooking and entertaining space that would sit comfortably within the existing garden layout while adding a strong architectural feature.
Creating a Unique Outdoor Kitchen
The design centres around a covered kitchen zone with integrated worktops, a built-in cooking area, and a sheltered seating space. The combination of dark stone textures and warm cedar cladding gives the structure a contemporary feel while keeping it inviting and tactile. The black steel framework provides strength, weather resistance, and a clean visual outline that frames the kitchen beautifully.
Design Details and Progress
The cedar cladding runs across the walls and ceiling to create a warm, cohesive look. The large-format stone flooring ties the whole space together. The worktops are designed for durability and ease of use, making the kitchen practical for everyday cooking as well as entertaining.
