Here's a recent courtyard garden I designed in Heckmondwike, blending style, function, and tranquility within a compact space. This two-level garden makes the most of every inch to create a peaceful outdoor retreat.

The garden is designed with two distinct levels, separated by a beautiful stone retaining wall with lush planting behind it, adding depth and natural softness. Steps lead up to the upper level, where a wooden outdoor office by Smart Spaces, Leeds, is perfectly positioned for quiet productivity.

On the upper level, a water feature serves as a calming focal point, surrounded by carefully selected planting that enhances the space’s serene atmosphere. The paving throughout features warm Indian sandstone complemented by traditional cobble set borders, providing a timeless and elegant finish.

At the rear of the garden, a stone raised bed filled with planting and carefully placed pleached trees adds privacy and seasonal interest. Behind this is a sleek horizontal lath screen, which combines privacy with a modern aesthetic.
