One of the main features of this Wakefield garden is a generous outdoor kitchen and dining area, designed for cooking, entertaining, and enjoying time with family and friends. The layout ensures this zone feels like a natural extension of the home, blending outdoor living with comfort and style.

Raised Planting Beds for Structure

To frame the garden and add definition, I included raised beds filled with planting. These provide height, colour, and seasonal interest, as well as structure that enhances the flow between different areas of the design. Raised planting beds are also a great way to introduce layers of texture, bringing movement and life to the space.

Fire Pit Seating Area

This garden benefits from two distinct seating areas, offering flexibility and variety for outdoor living. One seating space features a fire pit, creating the perfect spot for cosy evenings outdoors. A fire pit not only extends the usability of the garden into cooler months but also serves as a strong focal point for gatherings.

Pergola as a Garden Focal Point

A pergola was added to provide both shade and structure, creating an elegant sense of enclosure while offering support for climbing plants. It acts as a visual anchor within the design, helping to define the space while enhancing the atmosphere of the seating area. Pergolas are also a fantastic way to add architectural interest to a garden.

A Central Lawn for Balance

At the heart of the garden lies a central lawn area, providing openness and soft greenery to balance the hard landscaping. The lawn brings a sense of calm while allowing the surrounding planting borders to shine with texture, movement, and year-round appeal.
