Designing outdoor spaces for new build properties is all about adding character, functionality, and flow to a blank canvas. For this rear garden in Wakefield, I created a set of garden design concept plans—brought to life with a full walkthrough animation—to turn a plain plot into a contemporary and inviting outdoor retreat.

At MP Landscape & Garden Design, I focused on blending structure with relaxation. The design begins with a porcelain paved patio, offering a clean and low-maintenance surface ideal for entertaining and dining.

A standout feature of this Wakefield garden is the louvered canopy with an outdoor kitchen—a stylish and practical addition that extends the living space and allows for cooking and socialising outdoors, whatever the weather.

To enhance the layout and visual impact, I placed a central water feature as a striking focal point. Its calming presence draws the eye and adds movement and sound to the space.

A cobble set path winds its way around the garden, leading visitors through lush planting beds, across the lawn, and towards a more secluded seating area, designed for quiet moments or evening relaxation.
